NNPC build engineering complex in buk

*NNPC Builds Multi-Million Naira Civil  Engineering Complex  in  BUK*


(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); he Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has signed a memorandum of understanding to build an ultra-modern complex of the Department of Civil Engineering in Bayero University, Kano.

NNPC and Bayero University had signed the MoU on Thursday, 18th April, 2019 at the Vice Chancellor’s Committee Room. The project will cost three hundred and ninety seven million two hundred and eighty five thousand eight hundred and six naira (N397,285,806.25).
The Vice Chancellor, Professor M.Y. Bello, who was represented at the signing of the MoU by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Professor Haruna Wakili, thanked and appreciated the NNPC for the goodwill gesture, which he described as a dream come true. He said BUK cherished excellence and quality in all its projects. He expressed Bayero University’s commitment and determination to continue to partner with the NNPC.

nbsp;He, therefore enjoined the contractor to maintain the excellence which BUK is known for in the construction of this modern edifice.

Abdulfatah explained that the project was as a result of an earlier Memorandum of Understanding signed between BUK and Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), a privately owned University by the Malaysian National Oil Company (PETRONAS), where a good number of BUK academic staff earned their PhDs, while some are presently pursuing theirs.
script async src="//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js"> br />   Dr Abdulfatah further explained that the Department of Civil Engineering proposed a collaboration with its counterpart department at UTP and the proposal was expanded to an MoU between the two Universities. Having the understanding that the MoU would be funded by PETRONAS from the Malaysian side, BUK approached NNPC for support in this regard. Subsequently, a strong collaboration had been established between BUK and the Corporation.

Meanwhile, the contractor, Alhaji Lawal Aboki, thanked BUK for its support in preparing the contract and securing all the regulatory clearance.
