1. As you always go for work, remember one day you will retire. You won't be going to work anymore
2. Always go for your 30 days annual leave because whatever you do in your leave now, that is what you will be doing when you retired
3. Invest for your retirement now, for your children are not retirement investments
4. Start a hobby early in your working days to take you along when you retired. You can start rearing chicken, zero grazing or a shop
5. Where shall you retire, build yourself a home. Don't retire and continue paying house rent or begging to live in the barracks
6. Who shall be your dependant by the time you retired, your children should be above 18yrs atleast and self reliant
7. Don't retire in Town, because you can't continue living in the city after you must have spent 35yrs out of your home. The language and the hustle is hard for you

9. Live a very simple life, be friendly to the public because you will come home as a civilian and live in their midst when you retired
10. Avoid spending your little monthly earning on womanizing and drinking, or smoking because that money has a space to fill on the race
11. If you have not build a house in you home, do it now by saving even #5,000 monthly, because it's not advisable that you should use your retirement benefits to build a house
